One Hit Wonder

1 Comment 09 July 2009

Matthew’s Table, a gathering in Lebanon, TN, has launched a new initiative to raise funds for the church’s mission efforts in Europe.

Pastor Michael Carpenter owns Java Joe’s Lebanon’s best (in our opinion) coffee shop. The shop has a way of bringing out the best in people–they once had three straight days of drive-through customers “pay it forward” to the people who came in behind them. Now, Michael and his staff are tapping into that generosity to raise money to underwrite the launch of Matthew’s Table’s missions involvement in Europe.

The One Hit Wonder campaign is simple: customers are asked to donate one dollar to missions in Europe. Michael joined us on our recent trip to Rome and Marseille and God is using the experience to lead his church toward missional involvement there.

Matthew’s Table isn’t your typical church, and their missional activity won’t be either. They’re considering creative ways to engage European peoples in redemptive relationships. They’re not looking for another program, and they refuse to outsource missions to others. Follow Michael’s blog to keep up with Matthew’s Table as they explore how God is going to use them in Europe and at home.

If you would like to donate and do not live in the area, please click here or send dollar bills to Matthew’s Table, 1029-K West Main Street, Lebanon, TN 37087.
